Building on the Historic Village Structure
In the centre of a historic village, two new buildings close a gap that has remained open for over twenty years. On the former site of the “Wirtschaft zur Linde,” an ensemble emerges that integrates into the small-town fabric of the core.
Two offset volumes follow the historical parcel structure, with a narrow passage between them. The buildings adopt the local typology: solid ground floors with retail, topped by colour-painted timber housing with recessed loggias.
The urban gesture reinforces the square around the linden tree and respects the presence of the surrounding architecture. The aim is not reconstruction, but a contemporary continuation of the place’s character.
